A few words on the Blade 100 Pro
It's really good.
I love this racquet! There’s something about that Wilson gloss that is just magical; they are very good at painting racquets. I am genuinely in awe of how this racquet looks. I may prefer the Ultra 99 Pro blue a bit, but there is something ethereal about this emerald green—it feels almost like it shouldn't exist.
The racquet plays beautifully. For me, it needs a bit of weight in the head, but the lightness of the frame allows for ample room to play around. The 100 Pro breaks the mold in many ways as a stiff, flat-beamed, slightly extended racquet. I think it would suit so many players that I’m actually a bit disappointed it’s a “Pro” model at all. I hope Wilson markets it extensively, as it truly brings something unique to the market.
The signature Wilson "ball feel" is present in this frame. To me, that is still Wilson’s biggest competitive advantage. Almost every one of their frames has a real connection to the ball and lacks the mushiness or dullness that turns me off from many modern sticks.
I will hopefully have more to say as I get more hands-on time with this gem. For now, I will say that I absolutely queened out on court with this thing. I feel as if the spirit of Mirra Andreeva possessed me and gave me a little extra sharpness on my shots. I cannot wait for this to get into the hands of more people!
